Why we need hair care? Our hair plays a very significant role in our overall appearance. If you have any doubt about this fact, ask the artist who work in theater, television or film industries. The right hair style can make them look like the character. Even in normal life, people tend to experiment with their hair styles and hair color to get a fresh look for them. Having healthy hair is a complement and maintaining them is a process. When your hair can have so much of an impact on your overall personality, it is worth taking care.

One very important aspect in the process of hair care is the scalp skin. You should not ignore the treatment for your scalp skin. Many people treat scalp skin different or give less importance to it than hair but we need to understand that hair grows from underneath the scalp skin. We should give equal importance and care to our hair and scalp.

The part of the hair that is visible to us is called as hair follicle which contains the hair root, the sebaceous gland, the vessel for delivering nutrients (via the blood) and other parts. Hair itself is nonliving but there are processes and treatments which help us to manage hair. Proper care of hair ensures that the outer surface of hair, the cuticle, will remain intact and continue to protect the inner parts of the hair shaft (the cortex and the medulla).
